Leighton’s practice emphasis is in civil litigation, with a focus on Aboriginal law; aviation law; construction law; and complex cases often involving international implications.

Leighton has practiced in all levels of Court in Alberta, Court of Queen’s Bench in Saskatchewan, Federal Trial Court, Federal Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada. He served as a Justice of the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta before returning to private practice.

Fluent in Ukrainian.
